Success requires us to act on behalf of our goals. When we are not acting on our success’s behalf, it can be helpful to ask, am I being resistant?
Most of us will find ourselves in a place of resistance as we strive to create success. We might notice that we’re not ‘doing what we need to do’, even though we know we need to. We feel as if we’re pushing or pressing against ourselves. Sometimes it can feel like self-sabotage. Sometimes it can feel like a petulant two-year-old sitting inside us, throwing a tantrum.
When you notice these feelings, try not to judge yourself. Allow me to help you understand how normal this is and how easily it can be remedied!
Resistance is a stress response. It lives in the mind and body as a sensation. That sensation cues you to behave in a particular way. Stress is “protecting” you from the discomfort it feels around the activity (i.e. getting out of comfort, building a new habit, etc.)
